Are you often overwhelmed because it seems there is always too much to do? We, in America, enjoy every convenience: microwaves, dishwashers, instant oatmeal, etc., yet there never seems to be enough time to do the things you want to do, once you find them. We must learn to set priorities to determine how to apportion our time. Who and what should take precedence today?

Jo Ann Leavell once said, "People before things, people before projects; family before friends; husband before children; husband before parents; tithe before wants; Bible before opinions; Jesus before all."

Don't limit your investment in those you love to monetary gifts. They deserve your undivided attention and energies. How long has it been since you sat face-to-face with your small child and had a heart-to-heart talk? Scripture teaches us that family must be more important than occupation - there is no success if a family is lost. (I Timothy 3:5; 5:8) We need to learn to say no to seemingly good requests for our time just as our Lord taught us in Luke 4:42,43. Simply stated: spiritual values must overshadow worldly pursuits.

At Shady Grove United Pentecostal Church, we're in the business of learning to set priorities. We love to worship the Lord with fervor and energy. We're built on the firm foundation of God's Word and firmly we stand. We believe in a loving, harmonious family unit and understand the definition of work.

If you're looking for a place to worship the Lord and desire a more intimate relationship with Him, we invite you to come by. You'll enjoy the fellowship! We're a friendly church that knows how to make you welcome......we look forward to meeting you soon!

God Bless You,
Pastor Jeff L. Phillips
